Overview of the 1st Pytheas Maritime Space Forum
The European Union has been investing in new technologies to support its maritime policies and stimulate a sustainable blue economy at a European but also an international level. Many of these new technologies rely on data and services generated by the EU Space Programme and its systems: namely Galileo, EGNOS, and Copernicus.
Isalos.net is organizing a three-day forum in Athens, Greece to showcase the role that satellite technologies play in supporting safety at sea, optimizing navigation performance, and protecting the oceans.
The Summer Camp is organised with the collaboration of the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) and under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Maritime and Insular Policy, Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance, Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association), HEMEXPO (Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers & Exporters), WISTA Hellas and si-Cluster. Educational-visit’s hosts will be Lamda Flisvos Marina S.A. & Lavrio Port Authority.
Applicants across the EU have been selected to participate in the 1st Pytheas Maritime Space Forum, while certain sessions are open to everyone interested in the maritime industry and/or space technologies.
