Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS)
21 November @ 09:30 - 22 November @ 17:00
The effective way to positively affect human behaviour and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment
Safety research, over the last century, has revealed that human error is the primal contributing factor to the majority of casualties in the maritime industry.
Although the introduction of technology in the shipping industry aims to improve a ships’ competitiveness and the probability of occurrence of unwanted incidents, seafarers seem not to follow the same rhythm of evolution, due to human limitations. BBS is an evolving process that uses positive reinforcement to change unsafe individual behaviour and improve safety performance, as part of a positive safety culture.
In this training course you will work through the full scope of BBS. You will optimize your very own attitude and behaviour style and review the methods that can bring about effective BBS.
