HUMAN-CENTRIC PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT; MAXIMIZING SUCCESS THROUGH REWARDS AND COMPENSATION
7 November @ 10:00 - 8 November @ 17:00
With the increasingly intense focus of the Maritime industry on the Human Element, there is a growing recognition of the importance of effectively managing human performance, as highlighted by OCIMF’s ‘Human Factors Management and Self-Assessment’. Drawing from this guideline, this course is designed to equip maritime professionals with knowledge and tools to effectively address the challenges of adopting these guidelines.
Aim
The aim of course is to offer a comprehensive approach for driving optimal performance through the development of robust Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the design of effective reward systems, showcasing the importance of leadership in defining workplace culture and enhancing team capability.
The course combines organisational development theory with practical applications, ensuring participants gain the skills needed to navigate and apply these concepts in the context of maritime operations. This makes it ideal for professionals seeking to improve human performance management in line with the latest maritime safety and efficiency objectives.
The focus points will be:
- Develop and implement clear and meaningful KPIs that accurately measure and encourage desired performance outcomes.
- Understand the factors influencing employee motivation.
- Learn how to apply the ‘Total Rewards’ framework, a comprehensive strategy to enhance employee satisfaction and performance through key elements such as pay, extra benefits, health and happiness programs (wellbeing), training opportunities (development), and recognition, and how to align these with organizational goals.
- Understand the principles of creating pay plans (Pay for Performance) that drive employee and team performance and are aligned with organisational efficiency goals.
- Understand how to use the Balanced Scorecard, a well-researched and proven method that enables organizations to gain a holistic view of their operations, identify opportunities for growth, and align strategic objectives with tangible outcomes, all within a framework of continuous improvement.
